VAT Information - Group Registrations

It is possible for a group of companies to register for VAT under a single number. Details about the circumstances under which this is allowed are detailed on the Gov UK website here. Please note that a VAT group registration does not have to match the Group Structure registered at Companies House.

We receive more information about the Representative Member of a VAT group (which is the main organisation registered for VAT) than we do for other members of the VAT group. This means that, typically, our confidence match for companies which are part of a group VAT registration (members) will be lower than for the VAT group Representative Member.

We display the number of companies that are registered under the same VAT number, but in some cases we may not be able to match all companies within a VAT group to our database. Note that it is possible for dissolved companies to remain part of a group VAT registration.
