Politically Exposed Person (PEP) Status

Company Watch does not hold or display Politically Exposed Person (PEP) status for directors, shareholders, or Persons with Significant Control (PSCs). There is no PEP field or indicator anywhere in the Platform, the Full Report, Data Builder, or the API.

PEP status generally depends on the role a person holds, not the company itself. Someone who leads a state-owned enterprise, sits on the board of an international body (e.g. the UN or NATO), or holds a senior public-sector role would typically be considered a PEP. Directors of ordinary private companies are not automatically PEPs. Immediate family members and close associates of a PEP can also inherit that status. None of this assessment is something Company Watch currently performs or reports on.
