Platform Usage Snapshot Overview
This article explains each section of your Company Watch Platform Usage Snapshot report, helping you understand the insights provided and how to act on them.
Your platform usage snapshot report is delivered as a password-protected PDF and is typically provided monthly or quarterly, depending on what has been agreed with your account manager. It covers the period from your latest contract start date through to the most recent full calendar month end.
The report is made up of three pages:
Page 1: Company Watch Platform Usage SnapshotThis page gives a high-level view of your account's overall activity on the Company Watch platform.
- User Licence Allowance and Active Users
At the top of the page, you'll see three figures summarising how many user licences have been registered against your accounts allowance, and how many users have completed email verification.
If Active Users is lower than your User Licence Allowance, you have spare capacity. Users can register for a user licence independently using your accounts unique registration code. More information on this can be found here
- Users with Usage in Reporting Period
This figure shows how many of your active users actually used the platform during the reporting period. Comparing this to your total Active Users count helps you understand how widely the platform is being adopted across your team.
- Top 10 Usage Events Chart
This bar chart shows your account's Top 10 most-used platform features over the reporting period, split by UK and IE activity. The taller the bar, the more that feature is being used. This is one of the clearest indicators of where your team is finding the most value — for example, frequent use of 'View Rapid Succession' or 'Download Full Report' suggests deeper credit risk analysis, while high 'View Company' volume reflects broad day-to-day lookups.
If a feature your team should be using doesn't appear, or appears low on the list, this may be a good opportunity to request training from your account manager.
- Total Viewed Co's and Unique Viewed Co's
These two figures sit alongside the Top 10 Companies table. A large gap between these two figures usually indicates repeat monitoring of a smaller set of companies, while figures close together suggest broader, more varied research.
- Top 10 Companies Table
This table lists the 10 companies most frequently viewed by your account during the reporting period, along with their registration number and total view count. This can be a useful way to identify which counterparties, customers, or suppliers are receiving the closest scrutiny. - Top 10 Usage Events — Total Count
This table provides the exact figures behind the bar chart above it, giving you the precise number of times each feature was used during the period.
This page focuses on how individual users within your account are engaging with the platform.
- Top 10 Users Table
This table ranks your 10 most active users by the number of companies they've viewed.
If usage is heavily concentrated in one or two users, this may highlight an opportunity to encourage wider adoption across your team, or to identify a 'power user' who could help train others.
- Active Users with No Login Activity
This table flags up to 10 active, verified users who have not logged in during the reporting period. This is a useful prompt to check whether those seats are still needed, or whether those users may benefit from a refresher on how to use the platform. Regularly reviewing this list helps ensure your licence allowance is being used efficiently. Your account manager can help reallocate unused seats if needed.
- Unique Users Trend Chart
This line chart tracks the number of unique users active on the platform each month across your full contract period. It's a useful way to spot trends in adoption over time.
Page 3: International Usage Snapshot
This page shows your account's international platform activity, broken down by country. If no activity is logged then this page will show no data.
- International Online and Offline Report Orders
Two charts show the number of report orders placed for companies based outside the UK and Ireland. Each chart is ordered by country, from highest to lowest order volume, making it easy to see which markets your team is researching most. This is particularly useful for accounts with global procurement, supply chain, or credit risk functions spanning multiple territories.
- UK Non-Limited Report Orders
This table shows orders placed for UK entities that are not limited companies, such as partnerships or sole traders, which are reported separately from standard UK company data and ordered via our International Offline process.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why has my report changed from Excel to PDF?
The report has moved to a PDF format to make it easier to share securely within your organisation, including with senior stakeholders or finance teams who may not have Excel installed. The PDF is password-protected to maintain confidentiality.
Where has the individual username-level event data gone? The report has been redesigned to surface the most meaningful insights at both account and user level. Rather than a raw data export of every event by username, the report now presents this information as clear, actionable insights — including the Top 10 Users table and Active Users with No Login Activity table on Page 2.
Why might a user be listed as 'Active User with No Login Activity'?This usually comes down to one of two reasons:
-
The user has been newly set up on your account and simply hasn't had the chance to log in yet
-
The user has had access for some time but isn't actively using the platform
If a user hasn't logged in at all since being set up, encourage them to do so. If a user is consistently inactive, you may want to ask your account manager or the support team to deactivate that licence and free it up for someone else
Can i request a report on all 'Active Users with no log in activity'?
Yes, If you'd like to see a full list beyond the top 10, you can request a one-off no-login-activity report via the support desk.
Can I still get a detailed, one-off usage report?Yes. If you need a one-off usage report or more detailed data at any time, you can request this via the support desk or your account manager, who will be happy to help.
How often will I receive this report? This depends on what has been agreed with your account manager — usage snapshot reports are typically issued monthly or quarterly. If your requirement changes at any time, your account manager will be on hand to help.
